About the Event

Crossover youth are involved in both the child welfare and juvenile justice systems. Also referred to as dual-jacket or dually adjudicated youth, they experience higher rates of criminal justice involvement and use of public support services as adults compared to youth who are only involved in one system.

This webinar will equip CASA/GAL advocates with essential knowledge and practical tools to better support crossover youth. Participants will learn about the differing standards, practices, and expectations in child welfare and juvenile justice courts and how to navigate each system effectively. The webinar will also explore how advocates can provide appropriate, relevant information to the court while continuing to support the youth’s best interests.
